Reaffirmation of Accreditation

Eastern Arizona College is scheduled for reaffirmation of accreditation through the Higher Learning Commission during the 2016-2017 academic year. Eastern Arizona College has been accredited through the Higher Learning Commission since 1966 and anticipates the reaffirmation of accreditation as EAC is dedicated to providing quality higher education.

Important Dates

  • Public Opportunity to Comment: August 1, 2016 - January 9, 2017
    The public is invited to provide the Higher Learning Commission with comments related to Eastern Arizona College in preparation for the College's reaffirmation of accreditation.
  • Student Opinion Survey: November 7, 2016 - November 16, 2016
    Eastern Arizona College will be sending out a survey, developed by the Higher Learning Commission, to all current students. The purpose of the survey is to involve students in the accreditation process. The results will be reviewed by the Higher Learning Commission in preparation for the site visit.
  • Assurance Argument due to the Higher Learning Commission: January 9, 2016
    The Assurance Argument is drafted by Eastern Arizona College and provides the Higher Learning Commission with narrative and evidence that EAC is compliant with each of the Criteria for Accreditation.
  • Higher Learning Commission Site Visit: February 6, 2017 - February 7, 2017
    A team of peer reviewers from the Higher Learning Commission will visit Eastern Arizona College to conduct a review of the policies, processes and practices at EAC in an effort to ensure that the College is in compliance with the Criteria for Accreditation.

Public Opportunity to Comment

Eastern Arizona College is seeking comments from the public about the College in preparation for its periodic evaluation by its regional accrediting agency. The College will undergo a comprehensive evaluation visit on February 6-7, 2017, with a team representing the Higher Learning Commission.

EAC has been accredited by HLC since 1966. The team will review the College’s ongoing ability to meet the HLC’s Criteria for Accreditation.
