Paul E. Guitteau

The 17th president, Paul E. Guitteau, was born in South Bend, Indiana, and graduated from the University of Arizona in 1936. He served as president from 1951 to 1966.

During his presidency, the men’s dormitory and cafeteria, the gymnasium, the alumni library, and the science and agricultural buildings were built, and many others were renovated.

During his tenure, Eastern Arizona Junior College became the first member of Arizona’s Junior College System.

Guitteau meet the challenge of building up the college and Eastern Arizona Junior College grew in the 14 years of his presidency as it never had before.
