CDL 101
Truck Driving I
5 credits
Offered upon request
Offered in Gila County only
Prerequisite: (1) Valid motor
vehicle operator’s license, (2) Copy of driving record for the past
three years from the Department of Motor Vehicles, (3) Physically qualified
under Department of Transportation regulations - physician to complete a DOT
form, (4) Minimum age of 18 years – Employment opportunities require
the applicant to be at least 21 years old to work in interstate commerce,
(5) Drug screen, (6) Social security card, (7) Must not have had a DUI during
the past 5 years, some companies during the past 3 years, (8) Must have a
verifiable work history, (9) Satisfactory driving record (no more than 3 moving
violations in the past 3 years).
This course is a study of the basic
theories, applied laws and practices related to driving a commercial truck.
The student who is successful will receive a CDL Class A learner’s
permit, with a hazardous materials endorsement.

CDL 102
Truck Driving II
4 credits
Offered upon request
Offered in Gila County only
Prerequisite: Class A CDL learner’s
permit; a valid driver’s license; a valid DOT Medical Card.
This course is a study of basic applied theories, laws and practices related
to driving a commercial truck. The
student who is successful will receive a Class A Commercial Drivers License
with a hazardous materials endorsement.

Cooperative Education

job experience with a trucking firm to improve understanding of procedures
