Welding Welcome

EAC has joined the effort in strengthening manufacturing in America by enhancing our Industrial Technology programs. Our Welding Technology program is associated with Arizona Regional Manufacturing Professional Project (AZ RAMP UP). AZ RAMP UP is a collaborative effort involving Eastern Arizona College, Central Arizona College, Estrella Mountain Community College Southwest Skill Center, and Gateway Community College Maricopa Skill Center to provide state-of-the-art training for the next generation of welding technicians. Welding plays an important and vital role in the manufacturing process; our welding courses will prepare you to fill these roles and enjoy a successful career in welding technologies. Our instructors will spend quality time with you, giving you hands-on examples that carry over into real-world projects. We offer a variety of industrial technology courses so you have the diversified skills you need in today's workforce.

Our welding shop includes state-of-the-art technology using multi process digital welders for SMAW, GTAW, GMAW and FCAW. The basic welding skills learned in our program provide students the flexibility to shift from one industry to another increasing their marketability. Graduates from our Welding Technology program will possess the following skills:

  • Welding and metal fabrication techniques

  • Welding, brazing, cutting and soldering techniques

  • Industrial machinery repair and maintenance techniques

  • Modern industry welding processes

  • Exam preparation for industry certifications

Welding Student Experience

“When I started at EAC, I knew absolutely nothing about machine shop or welding. I only had the desire. I graduated a few months ago with a certificate, and am already working as a welder. In machine shop, we learned what we could do with each machine, making projects that started off easy and got harder. I learned to be very specific and do very fine work.”
- John Brimhall

“Welding is my passion, but I always knew I wanted to go to College. EAC’s Welding Technology degree is giving me both. When I leave EAC not only will I have my welding certificate, I will have a degree that I can build on for the rest of my life!”
- Paul Kartchner
