Repayment of Title IV Federal Student Aid Policy

Eastern Arizona College has a comprehensive financial aid program to insure, to the extent of available funding, that no student will be denied a college education because of lack of funds. EAC believes that primary responsibility for financing your education rests with you and your family. The ability of you and your family to provide that support is calculated through the federally approved needs analysis system incorporated into the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

There are four basic types of financial aid: Grants, Employment, Loans, and Scholarships. A financial aid "package" often includes two or more of these. Eligibility requirements for the various programs are general in nature, and may change without notice.

For more specific details on programs and eligibility please contact the Financial Aid Office. You may also refer to "The Student Guide" available in our office or available on the web. Another excellent source of financial aid information available on the Internet is Finaid, The Financial Aid Information Page. If you still have unanswered questions you can call the Federal information number at 1-800-4FED-AID (1-800-433-3243).

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) (also known as the Buckley Amendment) limits access to education records without express written consent. If you would like to give access to someone else, please submit a written request to Financial Aid.

To be eligible for Federal financial aid, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Have a high school diploma, its recognized equivalent (GED) or pass an Ability To Benefit test.
  • Be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or other eligible non-citizen.
  • Be admitted in a qualified program leading to a degree or certificate.
  • Be making Satisfactory Academic Progress in your course of study.
  • Not be in default on a federal student loan or owe a refund on a federal grant for attendance at any institution.
  • Have turned in all requested documents to Financial Aid.
