Thatcher, AZ—Eastern Arizona College’s String Orchestra will present its Spring 2016 concert, Miniature English Music for Strings, a collection of very short pieces by British composers lasting one to two minutes each on Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at 7:30 p.m., in the EAC Activities Center - Lee Little Theater. Admission to the concert is free to the public.
The program will include The Carman’s Whistle written by William Bird and arranged by Granville Bantock, Brook Green Suite composed by Gustav Holst, The Gordian Knot Untied and Fantasia Upon One Note composed by Henry Purcell, Greensleeves arranged by Ralph Hermann, Suite for Strings composed by William Boyce, Sentimental Sarabande composed by Benjamin Britten, An English Suite composed by Hubert H. Parry, St. Pauls Suite composed by Gustav Holst, The Wand of Youth composed by Edward Elgar, and Molly on the Shore composed by Percy Grainger.
The concert will be conducted by EAC Orchestra Director Franklin Alvarez.
