Community members and EAC students invited to attend free science lecture series

Thatcher, AZ—Community members and EAC students are invited to attend a science lecture series called "Science for Everyone." This free seven-part series will introduce knowledge, stimulate the mind, and arouse curiosity.

The series will take place on the third Tuesday of the month and will consist of an hour presentation with a 30-minute question and answer session to follow. All lectures will be held at EAC/s Math/Science Building in Room 203. A schedule for the lecture series is as follows: Sept. 18 A Dramatic Event in The History of Science, with Hal Herbert, Graham County Historical Society

Oct. 23 The Chemistry Mole Day Celebration, with Dr. Phil McBride, EAC Dean of Instruction

Nov. 20 An Introduction to Astrophysics and Cosmology, with John Ratje, Director Emeritus - MGIO

Jan. 15 Geologic Hazards and Disasters, with David Morris, EAC Earth and Space Sciences

Feb. 19 Measles Outbreaks and Other Preventable Diseases Tammy Gillespie, EAC Professor of Anatomy/Physiology

March 19 Anatomy and Physiology of Desert Fauna Aaron Burk, EAC Associate Professor of Biology

April 23 Genetic Engineering Dr. Randy Norton, University of Arizona
