| Why: | On-campus living adds an important social dimension to your college experience and helps you find “balance” along with your academic pursuits. In addition, there’s no cooking, no dishwashing, and unlimited “seconds” at the cafeteria, not to mention the proximity to classes and the safety and support of full-time residence staff. |
| When: | Assignments are given first-come first-served, based on receipt of the completed application and $150 refundable deposit. |
| How: | Complete and submit the Residence Hall License Agreement/Application. You can also apply online or by phone at 1-800-678-3808 ext. 8605. |
| Why: | Placement tests provide you with information about your reading, writing, and mathematics skills and enable us to advise you about the course or courses most likely to offer you the best opportunity for success. You may need to take placement testing before you enroll in your first mathematics or English composition courses or those courses with special placement testing requirements indicated in the class schedule. Results of the tests will be provided to you along with recommended placement in specific reading, English, and math courses. Go to the web address above, or call 1-800-678-3808 ext. 8270 to find out if you can waive the tests. |
| When/ How: |
Go to the above web address, or call 1-800-678-3808 ext. 8270 for dates, times, and places offered. Each test is approximately 2 hours. |
| Why: | As a new student at Eastern, it’s important to start out right. EAC’s Counseling Office can help you learn how to set your academic goals, to study and learn more effectively, and to function well in the sometimes demanding and high stress college environment. New Student Orientation covers subjects such as Academic Planning-learn how to use the tools necessary for planning your college program and Registration Assistance-learn how to use Eastern’s registration systems and in most cases you will be able to complete registration for your classes. |
| When: | Orientation sessions are offered on the Thatcher Campus on all dates when placement testing is scheduled, the months of May, June, July, and August and the week prior to the beginning of Spring semester classes. Sessions are 4 hours in length and begin at 1 p.m. |
| How: | To sign up for an Orientation session, or for more information, call 1-800-678-3808 ext. 8253 or send an e-mail to counseling@eac.edu. Orientation sessions are free and include an optional session for parents. |
| When: | Although it is highly recommended that all new students register for classes during an Orientation session (see Class Planning Advisement) any student may register for a given semester months prior to the first day of classes. |
| How: | Register online through Gila Hank Online, or call 1-800-678-3808 Ext. 8270. |
| Why: | Eastern’s Fiscal Office can help you make sure nothing stands in the way of the first day of classes by allowing you to verify payments already made and make any outstanding payments, thus “Finalizing” your payment history and ensuring any financial aid you qualify for is ready for dispersement. |
| When: | At least one week before classes begin you should contact Eastern’s Fiscal Office. |
| How: | Call1-800-678-3808 Ext. 8223 and tell them you wish to “Finalize” your record in preparation for the start of the new semester. |
| When: | Most students buy textbooks before classes begin; however, books are sold through the first few weeks of each semester. |
| How: | You can purchase your textbooks through Follett Higher Educational Group. Although not affiliated with EAC, Follett has a store on campus and can serve your needs in person or online. |
| Why: | Want to get into a basketball game, check out a library book, use a campus computer, or just cash a check? The Student Photo ID card is the “key” to many campus activities. |
| When: | Once you’re on campus, registered for classes, and have paid all your fees, you can obtain a Student ID card. |
| How: | Go to the Cashier’s Window, at the Fiscal Office. Your picture will be taken and your card processed within a few minutes. |
| How: | Call the Admissions Office locally at (928) 428-8272 or toll-free at 800-678-3808 Ext. 8272, or send us an e-mail message at admissions@eac.edu |
