- What are the application deadlines?
- All application materials must be received
by the Admissions Office by June 1 for the Fall Semester
or October 15 for the Spring Semester.
What are my chances of being admitted?
- Each international application is handled
on a case-by-case basis. There are no "automatic admissions."
Those students who are admitted generally have very good
high school marks (or the equivalent). Letters of recommendation
are also required for admissions.
Do I have to take the SAT?
- The SAT is not required of any international
applicant.
Do I have to take the TOEFL?
- The Test
of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required
of any student whose native language is not English. A paper-based
score of at least 500 or a computer-based score of at least
173 is required. You may be admitted without TOEFL scores
contingent upon participation in a college language training
program designed and approved to meet your individual needs.
What are "official"
transcripts?
- We are strict about transcripts. We will
NOT accept transcripts which are not original documents,
unless it is a copy that is certified by the registrar or
other appropriate official from that school. We do not accept
notarized copies.
Do I need to have my transcript translated?
- Yes. We need the original in the original
language, and an English translation certified by an appropriate
authority.
Is financial aid available?
- Unfortunately, there is no financial aid
available for incoming international students. You should
be prepared to finance your entire period of study at Eastern
from personal funds or from other sources. Also, the Immigration
and Naturalization Service strictly regulates off-campus
employment.
Is on-campus housing available?
- Yes. Full information about our housing
facilities and cafeteria meal plans can be found on our
housing home page. If
you are requesting on-campus housing, you should include
a $150.00 (U.S. Dollars) room deposit with your admissions
materials.
