Explanation of
Course Description Items

EAC offers over a thousand courses in forty-nine subject areas. Our classes are taught by highly qualified instructors, not teaching assistants, and classes are small so you won't get lost in the crowd.

1. This is the course number. Courses numbered from 001 to 099 will not be counted as graduation credit. Those numbered 100-199 are normally first-year or freshman level, and those numbered 200-299 are normally for second-year or sophomore students.
2. The credit hour is the unit of credit at EAC, as at most colleges and universities. Each credit hour represents one 50-minute class per week per semester, plus two hours of outside preparation and/or lab work.
3. An entry here indicates that the course meets one of EAC's general education requirements in the category shown.
4. The semester offered applies only to the Thatcher campus. Other sites will offer and teach classes based on student demand. We reserve the right to cancel any class for which there is insufficient enrollment.
5. For semester-length classes with the Extended Registration designation, registration is available through the second week of class. Regular registration closes at the end of the first week of semester-length classes.
6. An entry here indicates that in order to succeed in this course, you should have certain prerequisite experiences prior to taking it. Students who enter a course without meeting the prerequisites for that course may either be dropped from the course or receive no credit for the course. A waiver of prerequisites may be requested by petitioning the Admissions and Academic Standards Appeals Committee.
