Wayne M. McGrath

Born and educated in Duncan, and a graduate from Northern Arizona University in 1960, Wayne M. McGrath took the office of acting president of EAC on June 1, 1976. On August 18, 1976 his appointment as president of the college was formalized and he became the 19th president of Eastern Arizona College.

During his tenure the administration building, Old Main, was destroyed by fire and a new administration building was completed. On February 6, 1981, the new administration building was opened, and a modern new Student Center was built and opened in 1979.

In 1983, Dr. Wayne M. McGrath resigned from his position, leaving the college system in better financial shape than the day he took office.
