The one-year Early Childhood Education (ECE) certificate program is designed for early childhood teacher training. After you complete the certificate, you may apply for the National Child Development Associate Certificate through a national CDA credentialing agency.
If you're planning to continue your education and receive a Bachelor of Applied Science degree from a university, this is the program for you. Students who complete the AAS-BAS degree, transfer to a university and complete their BAS Degree. The BAS in early childhood program does not lead to teacher certification. This degree is helpful for center directors, supervisors, and lead teachers.
If you plan to transfer to a university to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree, then this is the program for you. This degree can lead to teacher certification and builds on the requirements for the National Credential or CDA and prepares you to meet the Arizona Department of Education early childhood education content requirements. This program includes the required courses to fulfill the AGEC-A.
