Thatcher, AZ—The entire community is invited to attend Eastern Arizona College’s Constitution Day Celebration at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2014, in the College’s Fine Arts Auditorium. The free event, sponsored by the Associated Students of Eastern Arizona College (ASEAC), will feature EAC President Mark Bryce, who will speak about the U.S. Constitution and the 1st Amendment.
The program will include a welcome by ASEAC President Daniel Gallacher and the “Star Spangled Banner” will be played by the EAC Gila Monster Band. EAC choral group, GuyZ, will perform “Do You Hear the People Sing?”
Current local and statewide elected officials and candidates for office have been invited. Those in attendance will include Ken Bennett, Arizona Secretary of State, and Jim Burton, candidate running for the Arizona House of Representatives. The officials and candidates will be available to meet with the public after the event.
“We are excited to welcome all candidates and elected officials and appreciate them making a special trip to the Gila Valley to meet with our students,” said Dr. Gary Sorensen, EAC’s Dean of Students and ASEAC Adviser. “We invite everyone to attend as we commemorate America’s Constitution!”
