CAS Welcomes New Member Organization: National College Testing Association
By Lori Dugan
Thatcher, AZ—The Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS) recently announced the admission of the National College Testing Association (NCTA) to its membership.
CAS was founded 35 years ago as a consortium of 11 associations. Today, 41 professional organizations reflecting a wide range of student-oriented functions across higher education institutions comprise the CAS membership.
CAS Standards respond to real-time student needs, the requirements of sound pedagogy, and the effective management of 44 functional areas. Individuals and institutions from nearly 40 CAS member organizations comprise a constituency of over 100,000 professionals.
Representing a significant majority of higher education practitioners in student programs and services throughout the country and beyond, CAS provides tools to higher education leaders assessing institutional effectiveness, student learning, and outcomes.
Eastern Arizona College’s Testing Center in Thatcher is an active member of NCTA and will now enjoy membership in CAS. EAC's Testing Center is managed by Jerri Lukens and is located in the Counseling Department in the Student Services building on the College’s Thatcher Campus.
