Artist Deanna Cluff to display her work at EAC

By Mylee Mayberry

Thatcher, AZ—A show of paintings by artist Deanna Cluff, is currently on display in Eastern Arizona College’s Media Center located in the Alumni Library on Thatcher Campus. The show will be available for viewing through April 30, 2015.

Cluff, an EAC employee, received her Bachelor of Fine Art/Drawing from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, and Master of Fine Art/ Figurative Painting from the Academy of Art University, San Francisco. She is a board member of the Art Guild of Eastern Arizona, a member of the Mendocino Center for the Arts in Mendocino, CA; and a member of the San Pedro River Arts Council in Benson, AZ. Her three areas of concentration are ceramics, oil paintings, and drawings which are currently on display at the Little Art Gallery in Thatcher.

“Singer John Denver once wrote a song for children that included the words, … ‘give us bread, but give us roses,’” says Cluff. “We all need the necessities of food, clothing, a home, etc., but it is beauty that gives our lives meaning and joy. I have always been fascinated by art’s ability to take a beautiful moment of time and capture it, so it can be enjoyed over and over again for years to come. If I can bring a little beauty and joy to someone through what I do, then I am happy!”

The public is invited to view the free show during regular Media Center hours.
