EAC’s 126th Annual Commencement to be the biggest in the Colleges history

Thatcher, AZ—Eastern Arizona College’s 126th Annual Commencement Ceremony is set for Friday, May 8, 2015, at EAC’s John Mickelson Stadium at 7:30 p.m., where a record number of candidates for graduation will be on hand. The entire community is welcome to attend this important event in the lives of the548 candidates for graduation, the students and the assembled audience of family and well-wishers will hear remarks from EAC student Ashley McBride; EAC Fine Arts division chair, Patricia Jordahl; and Dr. David Lunt, former EAC choir director.
Representing the graduating class will be 2014 Thatcher High School graduate, Ashley Nadine McBride, daughter of Bryan and Nadine McBride. Patricia A. Jordahl, EAC’s Fine Arts division chair, will be the faculty speaker. She has been a member of the EAC Fine Arts faculty for the past 22 years and has served as Fine Arts division chair for the past seven years.
Guest speaker, Dr. David Lunt, served as EAC’s choral music director for 21 years before retiring in 2001. He returned to teach for one more year in 2005. Since that time he has taught at Thatcher High School and tunes pianos locally.
Concluding Friday evening’s Commencement ceremony will be the conferring of Associate of Arts, Associate of Business, Associate of General Studies, Associate of Science, and Associate of Applied Science degrees to the graduation candidates.
Prior to the commencement ceremony, the EAC Alumni Association is holding its Annual Alumni Banquet in the main dining hall of the Gherald L. Hoopes Jr. Activities Center beginning at 5 p.m. Members of the EAC class of 1965 and this years graduates and guests are invited to attend this event. The alumni association will be giving special recognition to members of EAC’s class of 1965.
