EAC offering a late-start Legal Transcription class

Thatcher, AZ—Eastern Arizona College’s Business Division is pleased to be offering a brand new class, AIS226, Legal Transcription, section #6019, beginning Monday, October 5, 2015. This class will be offered online and will run through the end of the semester (December 10, 2015).

The course was designed to teach office professionals how to transform dictated or recorded information from the civil and criminal court systems into professional, hard copy documents using a word processor. Students will learn everything from preparing legal paperwork to word processing.

The online course lessons also include practical exercises, and students can complete this course in as little as two months.

This three-credit course will also serve as an elective for students seeking Administrative Information Services and Business degrees.

“In small communities one person often carries out all the clerical duties in a small court system,’ says Dana Barnett, EAC business instructor and instructor for the class. “This course can help that one person develop their legal terminology as well as improve skills in properly formatting court documents.”

Regular tuition and fees apply for this three-credit course. Arizona residents age 55 and over qualify for a tuition waiver and many students will be able to add this class to their existing schedule at no extra cost.
