Thatcher, AZ— Eastern Arizona College’s Symphony Orchestra will present Words and Music… The Stories of Egmont, Lieutenat Kijé, and Vodník, on Saturday, November 21, 2015, at 7:30 p.m., in the EAC Activities Center – Lee Little Theater. Admission is free.
The Orchestra, under the direction of EAC music instructor, Franklin Alvarez, will perform musical pieces, and with the help of a narrator, tell the stories of three historic characters with: Beethoven’s, Overture To Egmont; Sergei Prokofieff’s, Lieutenant Kije - Suite Symphonique; and Dvorak’s, Vodnik, The Water Goblin.
“We are presenting an educational concert,” says Alvarez. “The music in each of these pieces was written to tell a story. With the help of narrator Ammon Gaytan, we will weave the story with music and the spoken word.”
