By Todd Haynie
Thatcher, AZ—Students interested in a career in aviation, or those simply interested in learning how to fly, will be happy to learn that EAC will once again offer Aviation Ground School I, TEC120, sections #1573, and #1945, with local flight instructor, Steve Mayes. The classes will meet on Tuesday and Thursday in the Academic Programs Building Room #275. Section #1573 will meet at 12-1:15 pm, and section #1945 will meet from 7-8:15 pm.
“This course is an opportunity for people to explore a new career path in aviation,” said Mayes, a seasoned commercial pilot and licensed flight instructor. “Or for anyone who’s ever dreamed of becoming a pilot.”
The course will cover topics such as aerodynamics, weather, aircraft instrumentation, and radio communications, just to name a few.
This is a regular, semester-length, three-credit class. Regular tuition and fees apply; Arizona residents 55-years-old and older qualify for a full, in-state tuition waiver.
