United Way of Graham County provides 25 scholarships to local students
By Lori Dugan
Thatcher, AZ—The Eastern Arizona College Foundation (EAFC) is pleased to announce that the United Way (UW) of Graham County awarded $50,000 for student scholarships for the 2016-2017 school year. This is the fourth year that donations from the United Way have funded EAC scholarships.
Seventy-four local students have attended Eastern Arizona College because of the generosity of those who have contributed to the United Way of Graham County. Many of these students have graduated at Eastern and either continued their education with other institutions or entered the job market with their new skills.
The United Way Scholarships will go to 2016 graduates from Graham and Greenlee County high schools who will be attending Eastern Arizona College next fall. Student recipients of the United Way Scholarship from 2015, who maintained full-time status and a 3.0 grade point average, will also receive a second year of tuition assistance as a result of this donation.
Eastern Arizona College is pleased to partner with the United Way to provide the opportunity for a brighter future to our local students. This generous gift opens the door to many more students to obtain the skills and knowledge necessary for success in our ever-changing world.
The EAC Foundation, on behalf of these students, is profoundly grateful for the opportunities made possible through the help from the United Way of Graham County. For more information about EAC’s Foundation contact executive director, David Udall, at (928) 428-8296 or by email at email@example.com.
