THATCHER, Ariz.— Eastern Arizona College’s Fine Arts Division, like its Athletics Department, have had to be creative and ready to pivot on a moment’s notice as they have navigated the rules and regulations brought on by the pandemic. To their delight, they have been authorized to finish their season with limited live performances. Live audiences are back at EAC!

The coming weeks will not disappoint arts-hungry Gila Valley Audiences as the Music Department takes the stage for some very special concerts. The Jazz Band will present its Spring Jazz Concert on Wednesday, April 28, at 7:30 p.m., in the EAC Fine Arts Auditorium. Admission is free.

“This is our annual Spring Concert,” says Geoff DeSpain, Fine Arts Division chair and director of bands, “And we are indescribably thrilled to have a live audience in front of this for our last performance. Please come out and enjoy an evening of jazz!”

Next up is the annual Symphonic Band Concert on Friday, April 30, at 7:30 p.m., in the EAC Fine Arts Auditorium. Admission is free.

The annual Spring Orchestra Concert is scheduled for Saturday, May 1, at 7:30 p.m., in the Fine Arts Auditorium and will be conducted by EAC orchestra director, Franklin Alvarez. Admission is $5/person with full-time EAC students admitted free with ID.

All of the concerts will follow strict social distancing guidelines and masks will be required. For more information about this event contact EAC Fine Arts Division Chair, Geoff DeSpain at (928) 428-8465.
