Personal self-defense class offered at EAC
By Todd Haynie
THATCHER, AZ—The Eastern Arizona College Administration of Justice Department will offer a short-term personal self-defense class this fall semester. The class, Basic Personal Self-Defense (section #0569), will meet September 8, 15, 29, and October 3 in room 269 of the Academic Programs Building on the College’s Middle Campus.
Students will learn how to help protect themselves against being attacked, fight against the most common types of attacks used by suspects, create safer social environments, develop “safety plans” for dates and night classes, and understand Arizona law as it relates to harassment, stalking, and personal self-defense.
The class will be taught by police defensive tactics instructor, Sgt. Scott Mulleneaux.
Tuition for this one-credit activity class is $55 for Arizona residents. In many cases the class can be added to existing schedules without an additional cost.
