EAC creative writing students judge 5th and 6th grade cowboy poetry contest
By Lori Dugan
Bunny Dryden, coordinator for School Kids Cowboy Poetry Program, recently invited Dr. Marilyn Wilton’s creative writing students at Eastern Arizona College to judge poems written by 5th & 6th grade students from area schools.
“This activity provided a great opportunity for EAC students to be of service to the community while honing their own writing skills,” said Wilton. “It also demonstrated how to work toward a deadline—since we only had part of two class periods to complete the judging!”
This is the third year students from an EAC English program are serving as partners in this program.
