THATCHER, AZ—Eastern Arizona College’s Speech Communications Department is proud to welcome back storyteller Layne Gneiting for a special two-day event. At 7:30 p.m. on March 28, Gneiting will enthrall the audience with an evening of traditional storytelling. This event will take place in the College’s Lee Little Theatre.

The next evening, March 29, join us for a Cric Crac (an event where all in attendance are welcome to share a story), which will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Gherald L. Hoopes Jr. Activities Center-Gila/Galiuro Room. Admission is free and the entire community is invited. Those in attendance are invited to share a story. “The story can be a personal one, a folktale, a children’s story, or something totally made up,” said EAC Speech Communications Instructor Lee Russell. “It can be funny, crazy, sad, dramatic, or fantastic.”

“With a multitude of character voices, vocal effects, and original music on his Yamaha 88-key synthesizer, Gneiting’s tales fire the imagination,” said Russell. “His energetic creativity is infectious, igniting students to create and perform original masterpieces.”

“Layne combines his talents as a teller with his love of music. The two together make for wonderful storytelling,” said Russell. “Come and be entertained by his captivating stories!”

Admission to both storytelling events is free and each evening will be fun for the whole family. For more information, contact Russell in the EAC Speech Communications Department at 428-8489.
