EAC residence halls will be available during Summer Session I

THATCHER, AZ—Students wishing to get a jump on the fall semester by attending EAC’s summer sessions will now be able to live on campus during the College’s first summer term, which runs from May 27 through June 27.
In the past, some students would go home during the summer and not register for classes because they could not live on campus. But the summer sessions have many of the same classes offered during the fall and spring semesters that can help students complete their courses of study even quicker.
“We want to make attending EAC during the summer as convenient and accessible as possible,” said Danny Battraw, director of student life. “Opening a residence hall during for the first summer term will allow students the opportunity to take advantage of the wide range of campus services, including campus dining.”
EAC’s summer housing is offered as a package, which includes an assignment to a double-occupancy room in Mark Allen Hall and a 10-meal plan (featuring unlimited seconds for lunch and dinner) with Sodexho Food Service Monday through Friday. The College’s food service contractor, Sodexho, serves a variety of meals and will also work with students who have special dietary needs.
Mark Allen Hall houses 88 men and 88 women and shares a common building/wing entrance, lobby, and lounge. Rooms are furnished with bunk beds, lighted desks with an upper shelf, wardrobe closets, dressers, and chairs. Students have 24-hour access to the hall via room keys to facilitate class and work schedules. The residence hall is also staffed by an adult, full-time head resident trained to monitor the security of the hall and help students with any concern.
Room and board costs for summer housing is $650 for EAC’s first summer term. The cost includes the room, a 10-meal plan, utilities, basic cable TV, campus security, card-operated laundry facilities, and free parking.
Students assigned to Mark Allen Hall for the first summer session will be notified by mail beginning May 5. Roommate assignments will be made by the head resident at check-in, which begins at noon on May 26.
To apply for summer housing, students need to submit an application, which can be found online at www.eac.edu/campus_life/housing/formchoice.shtm. Students may also send an application to the Housing Office by mail or in person with a check or money order to: EAC Housing, 615 N. Stadium Ave., Thatcher, AZ 85552. In addition, the $150 deposit needs to be submitted, either online, by mail, or by calling the Housing Office at (928) 428-8605, or toll-free at (800) 678-3808, ext. 8605.
Students residing in on-campus housing for the summer must be enrolled in a minimum of four credit hours.
The deadline for submitting applications for on-campus summer housing is Friday, May 2, 2008. The College reserves the right to cancel this summer housing opportunity if at least 60 students have not applied by the deadline. In this case, students will be notified beginning May 5 that on-campus summer housing will not be available and will receive a full refund on their deposit.
