THATCHER, AZ—Eastern Arizona College’s Education Department, in partnership with Safford City-Graham County Library, will co-host Dinosaur Days on Wednesday, October 1, 2008. The come-and-go event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Safford City Annex (old library) building, located at 808 8th Ave in Safford. The annual event provides an educational activity day for young students ages 3 to 5. Kids will be able to participate in a variety of dinosaur related activities, including reading, games, arts and crafts, and cookie decorating. They will rotate between the tables, and it will take about an hour to complete all of the activities.
This event is free to all children. “Kids will have a ton of fun playing and learning at Dinosaur Days,” says the head of EAC’s Education Department, Joanne Ellsworth. Parents should plan to stay with their children, and they do not need to bring anything to the event. Kids should wear comfortable clothing. Water will be provided.
“EAC’s education majors will benefit from this event as well, since it provides them with an additional teaching opportunity,” says Ellsworth. “Hands-on experience with young learners is an essential part of our program at EAC.”
