THATCHER, AZ—Eastern Arizona College’s Discovery Park Campus cultural lecture series will conclude for this semester with a presentation on “Southwest Pottery, Old and New.” The presentation will be given by Dean Harry Swanson on Saturday, May 2, 2009, at 6:30 p.m. in the Jupiter Room of Discovery Park Campus. In this presentation, Swanson will explore some hallmark ceramic artifacts from ancient southwest cultures including Anasazi, Mogollon, and Salado, as well as briefly look at some modern pottery forms from contemporary descendants of those ancient peoples.
“We have had some wonderful presentations this spring, and I hate to see the semester come to an end,” says Swanson. “We have covered many anthropology topics, we have had partnership deliveries on astronomy by members of the Desert Sky Gazers Amateur Astronomy Club, and, by request, we have even taken our programs on the road to Morenci. Thank you so much for your loyal support of these EAC programs. Please come join us for the last talk until we begin anew in August.”
