THATCHER, AZ—Eastern Arizona College’s Counseling Department will offer a half-day orientation program for new students, transfer students, and parents. The program, entitled “Orientation for Student Success,” will be offered twice to accommodate attendees’ schedules: the first on Tuesday, August 18 and the second on Wednesday, August 19. Both sessions are scheduled from 1 to 4:30 p.m. and will take place in the College’s Academic Programs Building in Room 118.

A new addition to this year’s orientation program is a Saturday, August 22, “Twilight Tour.” The evening event is for all first-time, full-time students to tour the grounds and familiarize themselves with the layout of campus.

During the August 18 or 19 afternoon sessions, students and their parents will find out about:

• Testing Services

• Academic Support and Counseling Services

• University Card/Student Employment at EAC

• Student Activities/Health

• Campus Security and Safety

• Housing

Attendees will learn about how to stay healthy, the College’s housing options, and campus activities and student organizations.

The August 22 Twilight Tour begins in the Lee Little Theater at 5:30 p.m. and continues with a Campus tour of all academic buildings and student services. Students will then be invited to attend the 6:45 p.m. scrimmage game at Mickelson Stadium.
