EAC Symphonic Band to perform in April

By Todd Haynie

THATCHER, AZ—The Eastern Arizona College Music Department is proud to present the Spring Symphonic Band Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 24, 2006.

The concert will include several middle school bands from throughout the Gila Valley, playing as a combined band and later joining EAC’s Symphonic Band. Dr. Clay Redfield, EAC Director of Bands, will direct the performance.

“We’re excited to share our music program with this concert,” explained Redfield. “It will also give the community the opportunity to see a range of student performances, from the elementary school to the college level.”

Performance selections will include The Gathering of the Ranks at Hebron by David R. Holsinger, The Inn of the Sixth Happiness by Malcolm Arnold and arranged by Takayoshi Suzuki, and a specially commissioned piece by Gerry Willis entitled Gila Valley Fanfare.

The free concert will be performed in the College’s Fine Arts Auditorium. For more information, contact Redfield at 428-8465.
