THATCHER, AZ—Eastern Arizona College's Speech Communications Department will host storyteller and EAC favorite Layne Gneiting for two events on the weekend of Friday, March 26. Both are family-friendly and free to the public.
First up, on Friday, March 26, 2010, Gneiting will perform some of his most-loved stories in a special event entitled The Magic of Storytelling in the Gila/Galiuro room at the EAC Activities Center at 7:30 p.m.
Then, on the morning of March 27, Gneiting will conclude the weekend's events with a 10 a.m. workshop entitled Learn to Make the Magic of Storytelling, in the Gila/Galiuro room of the EAC Activities Center.
“Gnieting is a well-known storyteller who uses his music to help in his tellings," says Lee Russell, head of EAC's Speech Communications Department. "His performances uplift and entertain all who attend."
"Stories are part of everyday life," says Russell. "They help us carry on family traditions, while passing on family history and culture. To be an effective storyteller is a talent all can cultivate."
