Discovery Park Campus continues Children’s Story Reading Program
By Jeanné Schaser with “Seagraham Seal’s Perfect Gift” for Mother’s Day
THATCHER, AZ—Eastern Arizona College’s Discovery Park Campus continues its popular Children’s Reading Program with Dean Harry Swanson’s Alaska story, “Segraham Seal’s Perfect Gift.” Swanson will present the story himself in the Campus’ Jupiter Room on Thursday, May 6, 2010, from 6:30 to 7 p.m.
The story chronicles little Seagraham’s search for the perfect Mothers’ Day gift for Mamma Seal. Admission to the event is free and is most suitable for children between 5 and 12 years old. A limited number of copies of this book are available and will be given to children on a first-come, first served basis. All children will be given a Mothers’ Day card to color and give to Mom.
“We know that reading well is directly correlated with being a good student, so we want to help children get interested in reading at an early age,” explains Swanson. “Being able to do that in conjunction with a holiday that honors our mothers is just an added bonus for us at your Discovery Park Campus. Bring the kids out and see for yourself!”
