EAC to offer orientation for new students on Wednesday, August 18

THATCHER, AZ—Eastern Arizona College’s Counseling Department will offer two sessions of its free orientation program for new students, transfer students, and parents. The program, entitled “Orientation for Student Success,” will be offered twice on Wednesday, August 18, the first session is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the second is scheduled from 1 to 5 p.m. Both will take place in the College’s Lee Little Theater.
During the orientation sessions, students and their parents will find out about:
• Academic Support and Counseling Services
• EAC Debit Card/Student Employment at EAC
• Student Activities
• Health Care/Insurance
• Campus Security and Safety
• Computer Services: Gila Hank (EAC's online registration system), Monster Mail and Personal Computer Activation
Attendees will learn about how to stay healthy, the College’s housing options, and campus activities and student organizations.
In addition to the official orientation program, EAC’s Admissions Office will host a “Twilight Tour” on Saturday, August 21, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The evening event is for all first-time, full-time students to tour the grounds, familiarize themselves with the layout of campus, and meet new friends.
The Twilight Tour begins in the Lee Little Theater at 5:30 p.m. and continues with a Campus tour of all academic buildings and student services. Students will then be invited to attend the year’s first social event at a football scrimmage game at Mickelson Stadium.
