By Lori Dugan
Thatcher, AZ—Eastern Arizona College’s Children’s Theatre will perform the beloved salute to the children of the world, It’s a Small World, December 1-3, at 7:30 p.m. and December 4, at 2 p.m., in the Gherald L. Hoopes Jr. Activities Center-Lee Little Theatre. Admission is $3/person.
Since its thrilling debut at the 1964 New York World’s Fair and opening at Disneyland park in 1966 and subsequently at other Disney theme parks around the globe, Small World, with its best-known tune sung in different languages, has taught generations of children to dream of a world of peace, understanding, and friendship.
The more-than-100-person-cast ranges in age from four to ten years old. “They have been practicing songs and dances since the first of November,” said the play’s director, Penny Whetten. “The play features children and customs from all over the world!...Come along on the journey as a group of students learn that it really is a small world after all.”
