Saturday and evening placement tests planned for January
By Lori Dugan
In preparation for the upcoming spring semester, Eastern Arizona College’s Evaluation Unit will offer Saturday and evening placement testing sessions in early January. On Saturday, January 8, testing will be available from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and on the evenings of Monday and Tuesday, January 10 and 11, testing will be available from 4:30 – 8 p.m. The last test will begin one hour before closing. All three sessions will take place in the College’s High Tech Center.
Students must bring their EAC student ID or a photo ID to the test.
What are EAC’s placement tests? All degree-seeking students must take the placement test prior to enrolling in courses at Eastern Arizona College. Non degree-seeking students must take the placement test if enrolling in courses that require Math or English placement. The placement test covers reading, writing, mathematics, spelling, and vocabulary and the results are used during the educational planning process to assist students in selecting appropriate level courses in which they will be successful. The COMPASS placement assessment can be taken at no charge for students who are enrolling at Eastern Arizona College. EAC uses the COMPASS (Computerized Adaptive Placement Assessment & Support System) test from the American College Testing for placement.
