Electronic Keyboarding to be offered online this summer
By Lori Dugan
Thatcher, AZ—For the first time ever, Eastern Arizona College’s Business Department will offer AIS117, Electronic Keyboarding I, section #7106; and AIS118, Electronic Keyboarding II, section #7107, online this summer. Both classes begin May 31 and will extend through both summer sessions.
Taught by instructor Tammy Campbell, these three-credit courses are designed to be taken consecutively. The first course, AIS117, uses Word 2010 to create business letters, labels, reports, tables, and the usage of APA (American Psychological Association) and MLA (Modern Language Association) reference styles.
The second class, AIS118, builds on the skills taught in AIS117 and focuses on creating memos, reports, itineraries, meeting agendas, and procedures manuals.
Students will need a computer with Internet access and the textbook for the class, which comes with a GDP access code.
“GDP is the online keyboarding program that EAC uses,” explains Campbell. “It has all of the keyboarding exercises and timed writings that students need to complete for the class, without them having to download cumbersome software onto their computer.”
To register for the class, contact EAC Records and Registration Office at (928) 428-8270 or register online at www.eac.edu. For more information about these classes, contact Campbell at (928) 428-8423, or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org .
