EAC to host Mining Engineering Open House
By Lexi Heninger
Thatcher, AZ—Eastern Arizona College’s Engineering Program invites students and their parents to an open house on October 5, 2011, in the High Tech Center, room 122. There will be two available sessions, one from 5-6 p.m., and then again from 6-7 p.m. Since fall 2009, EAC has offered all of the courses that a student needs to enter the Mining Engineering program at University of Arizona as a junior.
“Attendees at this special open house will get a good overview of the mining profession, the mining engineering program at U of A, and it’s ‘feeder’ program here at EAC,” says Dr. Jack Bailey, EAC’s engineering instructor. Bailey will also be on hand to answer questions about getting started at EAC, and U of A representatives will be available to address the process of completing the degree through the University.
“Mining engineering is a fast growing career path for the right students,” says Bailey. “This open house will be a great opportunity for students to come discover if mining engineering is the right choice for them.” For more information about this free open house, contact Bailey at (928) 428-8226.
