Thatcher, AZ—The Friends of the Safford Library held a Dia de los Muertos program on Wednesday, October 24, in the Phelps Dodge Room of the Safford Library. Tucson Arizona Humanities speaker, Elena Diaz Bjorkquist, shared, through stories and visuals, the significance of this Mexican holiday. Members of Eastern Arizona College International Club dressed in Dia de los Muertos costumes and created an altar dedicated to Cuban dancer, Celia Cruz. The altar will be on display in the Safford library through November 8.
