Thatcher, AZ—The Eastern Arizona College Foundation is pleased to announce that a new scholarship has been established by friends and family of William “Bill” Konopnicki to honor his service and support to Eastern Arizona College and the community.
The scholarship will benefit students in the new Communication Studies Program at Eastern Arizona College. The first recipient will be awarded this spring for the Fall 2013 semester.
“The scholarship is named after Bill, who has long acted as an advocate for Eastern. He served in the Arizona House of Representatives from 2003 to 2011, where he actively spoke on behalf of the college. He is a former employee of EAC, and went on to be a successful businessman in the Gila Valley and beyond. His exceptional business communication skills were well-used in supporting and promoting EAC and our community,” Said David K. Udall, executive director of EAC’s Foundation.
Those who wish to contribute to this memorial scholarship may do so at EAC Giving, or by sending a check to the EAC Foundation, referencing the William Konopnicki Communication Studies Scholarship at 3697 W. Church St. Thatcher, AZ 85552.
Students wishing to apply for the scholarship should be enrolled as a Communication Studies major, have a 3.5 GPA, and complete an EAC Scholarship Application by March 1. Applicants include a one page essay explaining their interest and goals in the field of communication.
